Tanya Baylis Community Dance Program

This year in 2009, the Memorial Foundation has approved $3,000.00 over a two year period to offer a dance program in East Calgary . The session Dance Program is an opportunity for children aged 8-12 years who have not received any formal training and where the cost would be unaffordable to the family to showcase their dance ability.

Tanya Baylis was a former APAC dancer and had a dream of teaching young children how to dance who due to financial circumstances would not be able to take formal dance lessons.

New Proposed Performing Arts Facility

The Jaimie Hill & Tammy-Lynn Powers Memorial Foundation has conditionally entered into a partnership with International Ave Arts & Culture Centre (IAACC) to build performing arts facility in East Calgary .

IAACC is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee (non-profit) in the Province of Alberta on November 09, 2001 and effective September 01, 2003 is recognized as a charitable organization, BN 86932 8310 RR0001.

The Memorial Foundation highly supports IAACC in their pursuit of building a performing arts facility in a prominent location on the escarpment of 26 Street and 17th Ave SE overlooking the downtown skyline and the mountains. This proposed facility will serve the fine arts and performing arts community for the entire City of Calgary . We applaud IAACC in commencing programs while working toward securing the land site.
